Fox Audience Network In The Shop Window; Safari Still The Biggest Browser For Mobile Consumption In Europe

» Is Fox Audience Network on the market? A report yesterday in Techcrunch is suggesting that News Corp has put FAN in the shop window. It is the eight largest ad network in the US, and revenues range between $100 and $150 million. The report suggests it will have an awful price valuation of 1x revenue. That’s such a low number given the size of its turnover - and derisory when compared to the sum paid by Google for Admob ($700 million, 17x revenue). Does the market think online display has reached saturation point? Or are ad networks lacking compelling technology? FAN has an operation here in Europe, reaching nearly 50 million European unique visitors a month. The report suggests that a number of private equity firms are interested in buying the News Corp operation, but there’s been no confirmation from News Corp. [Techcrunch]

» Qunatcast released some stats on European mobile web consumption this week. The numbers put safari as the number one browser in the mobile market for accessing web content. Safari has 71.9% share of the market with Nokia its closest rival at 10.1%. The report suggests that Android is the fastest growing browser over the last twelve months, up nearly 89% year-on-year.
