Merkle Appoints Mark Atkinson as UK Chief Sales Officer

Merkle a leading technology-enabled, data-driven customer experience management (CXM) company and part of dentsu, has appointed Mark Atkinson as UK chief sales officer.

Atkinson’s appointment follows a period of further growth at Merkle in the UK and double digital new business growth for the sales team, with clients further increasing their services and capabilities across Merkle’s CXM offering to support their transformation programmes. This expanded role will help clients work with Merkle in a way that will drive the integration required to help clients organise themselves around the ultimate outcome of delivering against consumer’s expectations.

Formerly the VP Adobe EMEA alliance and enterprise sales lead for Merkle, Atkinson will lead the UK sales team and manage Merkle’s UK alliance activities in his new role to support the business’ growth ambitions. 

Atkinson moved to Merkle in 2021 from his previous role as UK head of platform and specialist sales at Adobe, bringing with him a powerful network and expertise across all of the major CX, content, commerce, B2B, and platform solutions. After more than seven years in software sales at Adobe, engaging with major brands across a range of industries, Atkinson formed part of the UK leadership team tasked with driving value from the specialist sales organisation and a strong focus on employee engagement, sales execution, and personal development.

Merkle pivoted to become a CXM company in 2020, in response to the growing requirement among brands to deliver a total customer experience across every interaction a consumer has with them.
