Global, the media & entertainment group, has today (23rd September, 2026) announced the launch of Radio Plus, giving audiences more choice and a new way to enjoy the same great live radio from the UK’s best-loved music brands, just with more music and no commercial breaks.
For the first time, listeners can hear Global’s UK music stations live and ad-free, while still enjoying everything that makes live radio special, including star presenters, news, travel, competitions, listener calls, major interviews, and shared moments. Commercial breaks are simply replaced by more music.
Available for a monthly or annual fee, Plus can be accessed through Global Player, linked to Alexa smart speakers, in-car apps, and Apple TV. Subscribers also receive benefits tailored to each brand, including priority event access, weekly competition entries, exclusive presenter newsletters, and merchandise discounts.
Plus is part of Global’s new range of subscription products spanning radio, podcasts, and YouTube video, with packages starting from £4.99 a month.
Ashley Tabor-King CBE, founder and executive president of Global, said: "Radio Plus gives listeners a new way to enjoy the stations they love: live, energetic radio with the sense of time, place, occasion, and curation only live radio delivers, but with more music and no commercial breaks. Plus keeps everything that makes radio so special, from brilliant presenters and big shared moments, to news, competitions, events, and listener interaction. Global Player is still completely free, and nothing changes on our normal streams, FM, and DAB. This is simply a new exciting choice for our listeners. With radio reaching record audiences in the UK, this is the perfect moment to offer listeners an exciting new way to experience their favourite Global brands.”
The launch sits alongside a broader subscription offering, including podcast subscriptions (Podcast Plus) such as LBC’s Nick Abbot - The Whole Show, F1 podcast show Up To Speed and YouTube Channel Memberships such as Scroll Deep, which are already live. Further "Podcast Plus" packages will be added soon.
Plus radio subscriptions are available now nationally across the UK via Global Player.
Global Player will remain free and Global's brands will continue to carry advertising on existing streams, FM, and DAB.
