Yet another busy week for Google, who prepared to open its Confirming Gross Revenue tool to publishers and buyers. In a troublesome turn, however, the EU Commission ruled that the tech giant had engaged in anticompetitive practices and may need to sell part of its ad business.

In a similar blow, Microsoft's planned acquisition of Activision Blizzard felt the wrath of regulators as the FTC asked a federal court to stop the deal from closing. And, in gaming, Twitch scrapped its new advertising rules following backlash from streamers.
