Digest: Trade Desk Cuts Jobs in Major Strategic Reset; VodafoneThree Unveils TV Service in UK Market Push

In today’s Digest, we discuss The Trade Desk laying off 15% of its workforce as its CEO frames the cuts as a strategic reset, VodafoneThree launching a TV service and premium mobile tier in a UK market push, and DAZN Media+ unveiling an AI-powered Sales Agent to streamline video ad buying.

Trade Desk cuts jobs in major strategic reset

The Trade Desk informed employees that its global workforce would shrink by roughly 15%, a reduction affecting approximately 575 people out of a base of 3,843. CEO Jeff Green delivered the news via an internal email, later published by the company-owned trade outlet The Current, framing the move as a deliberate reallocation of resources rather than a sign of financial trouble, and noting the company holds USD$1.5bn (£1.12bn) in cash with no outstanding debt. Titled "Important TTD team and business focus updates," the email went out to staff across every region the company operates in, with individual layoff notifications following within fifteen minutes of the broader announcement.

Green mentioned only that departing employees would receive "transition packages," without elaborating on what those packages would include.

VodafoneThree unveils TV service in UK market push

VodafoneThree rolled out its own television service in Britain on Thursday, closing a longstanding gap in its broadband lineup. The new Vodafone TV offering will bundle in streaming apps including Netflix and HBO Max, alongside linear and on-demand programming from broadcasters like the BBC and ITV, plus access to more than 300 games and thousands of additional apps, according to the company.

Alongside the TV launch, VodafoneThree also introduced a premium mobile tier called "SuperMobile," promising speeds up to four times faster than standard service and a guaranteed minimum download speed of 15 Mbps for customers within 5G+ coverage areas.

DAZN Media+ unveils AI-powered Sales Agent

DAZN Media+ has revealed a new AI-powered Sales Agent, designed to let advertisers, agencies, and technology partners connect directly with DAZN's ad inventory. The tool will help users discover available live inventory, refine campaign proposals, confirm purchases, and check on live campaign performance, giving buyer agents visibility into formats, day-parts, audiences, and pricing. The Sales Agent is set to go live in 2027.

DAZN Media+ chief sales officer Nev Hasan said the tool reflects how media buying itself is changing, and that the company wants to keep its inventory easy to discover, access, and transact with as client technology and workflows continue to evolve.
