Google won’t have to sell Chrome, after ruling in search antitrust trial (Digiday)
Google won’t be forced to sell its web browser Chrome or Android mobile operating system, Judge Amit Mehta has ruled, in the tech giant’s antitrust search case.
Its exclusive search deals with handset manufacturers and ISPs have been prohibited. Google must also share certain search index and user-interaction data (not ads data) with “Qualified Competitors” and offer them search and text ads syndication services on commercial terms.
