MadTech Podcast 300th Episode: TikTok Ban and Google's Cookie Deprecation Delay

They discuss the TikTok ban which has finally been passed through the Senate and Google’s decision to delay third party cookie deprecation for the third time. They also look back at some of the podcast recording highlights from the past few years, since the MadTech Podcast began. 

Senate passes bill banning TikTok if parent company does not sell it (The Guardian)

The Senate has passed the bill which will either ban TikTok or force a sale of the short-form video app. Its China-based parent company, ByteDance, has up to one year to divest its crown jewel before facing deletion from US app stores. 

Google delays third-party cookie demise yet again (Digiday

Google is delaying the end of third-party cookies in its Chrome browser again. Google did not outline a more specific timetable beyond hoping for 2025.
