Overwolf’s Nitro & Base44 Launch $65K Contest for Web Games Built with AI

Nitro, Overwolf’s monetisation platform for browser-based games and gaming content websites, and Base44, the AI-powered app-building platform, today (5th November, 2026) announced the Base44 x Nitro Web Game Contest. The competition challenges developers, builders, and creators to turn their ideas into playable browser games using Base44. It offers USD$65,000 (£47.9k)in total cash prizes, including a USD$25,000 (£18.4k) grand prize. Top submissions will also be featured in the Overwolf App Store, where millions of potential players can find them.

Submissions are open from November 5 through December 3, 2026, and winners will be announced on December 10, 2026. Entries will be judged on gameplay, creativity, and technical execution. The judging panel includes Maor Shlomo, founder and CEO of Base44; Uri Marchand, co-founder and CEO of Overwolf; and Cody Bye, founder of Nitro.

Base44 lets creators build working apps, websites, and web games from natural language prompts, so a game idea becomes something playable much faster. Nitro picks up once those projects start attracting an audience. Its monetisation technology helps gaming website owners earn advertising revenue while keeping the player experience intact.

"Through Nitro, we work with gaming website owners and developers who have turned their ideas into products used by players around the world, and we’ve seen firsthand how a project that starts small can grow into a successful online business," said Uri Marchand, co-founder and CEO of Overwolf. "More and more of those creators are now using AI-powered development tools to bring new games to life. Base44 makes it faster to turn a game idea into something playable, and Nitro can help take it from playable to profitable. Together, we want to encourage more people to experiment with browser game development and build something players genuinely enjoy."

Prizes are split between USD$50,000 (£36.9k) in Judging Panel Awards, including the USD$25,000 (£18.4k) grand prize, and USD$15,000 (£11k) in Community Favourite Awards ranked by public votes on Base44 Launchpad. Participants can win in both categories. Each participant may submit one original game built with Base44. Entries must be free to play and playable directly in a browser, with no downloads or logins. Full rules and submission details are available at nitropay.com/base44webgame.

The web game ad monetisation Report 2026

Alongside the contest, Nitro is releasing The Web Game Ad Monetisation Report 2026. The report analyses 806 gaming publisher domains, 4.17 billion visitor sessions and 10,446 ad unit configurations to show what drives advertising revenue across gaming websites. Key findings include:

  • Browser games generate 2.37x more revenue than their share of sessions, outperforming other gaming content categories.
  • Tier-One traffic is worth 3 to 5x more per session.

The report also covers revenue-per-session benchmarks by gaming website category and the ad formats with the highest viewability in browser games. It includes a case study on how Trainwreck Labs built a seven-figure solo studio through browser games. The report is free to download at nitropay.com/webgamereport2026.
