Wednesday marked the start of Spring, and it appears the tech industry is already embracing the season of new beginnings. In Europe, German media conglomerate Axel Springer announced it would overhaul its domestic operations and shift focus to the US, also revealing plans to phase out its print publications. This week also saw a new start for two former Meta executives, who launched Anonym, a start-up promising effective ad measurement without violating privacy restrictions.

In Japan, major firms including Mizuho, Sumitomo Mitsui, and Mitsubishi partnered to expand the country’s Web3 infrastructure and create a “Japan Metaverse Economic Zone”. Meanwhile, tech giant Apple teased the possibility of taking ads to its streaming service, Apple TV+, appointing Lauren Fry to develop its video advertising business.
