The UK's CMA took the momentous decision this week to block Microsoft’s USD$68.7bn (~£55.1bn) purchase of Activision Blizzard over cloud gaming concerns. The move threw the acquisition into doubt and prompted Activision to state the nation was "closed for business". 

Also in gaming, we saw a US federal appeals court side with Apple in its legal spat with Epic Games, though critically app owners can now direct payment links outside of the App Store. Bye bye 30% commission? And, in social media, Facebook's online advertising system charged marketers for ads that no one saw due to a glitch that cane just weeks after a third round of staff cuts at Meta.
